The Drinks Trust required a complete redesign and redevelopment of their charity’s website. The old site did not make the most of their new branding, and the customer journey was flat and very procedural. This meant that users had difficulty finding the right information quickly and this often led to increased enquiries of the team when the website should have been doing the work.
The Drinks Trust had also decided to amalgamate 3 sub-brands into the website, these were previously served by separate websites. So the challenge was to introduce these extra elements, whilst also making the user journeys simpler and more easily understood by the end users.
We were able to package The Drinks Trust’s new branding into a website design that reflected a modern aesthetic of an established and renowned charity that dates back to 1886.
Integrating the sub-brands was an opportunity to introduce the brands colours to identify the different sections of the new website, whilst also injecting some personality into the design.
The navigation for the user journey received a complete overhaul. This was done in collaboration with the relevant departments to ensure that both the end users, and the admin teams needs were met. As this is a complex website, we chose to introduce an effective mega style menu that acts as a reference for each section - something that gives the users a clear understanding of the offering before they dive into the content.
Whilst we were at it, we were also going to make the goals of the website more effective and easier for users to complete. Creating an eligibility function for applicants was key to reducing admin workload whilst also providing the end user with a definitive list of services that they are eligible for.
Other aspects such as migrating over to G4 Analytics were taken care of at the end of the build.
